 How it started...

In the mid-1800s, during the Victorian Era, Bloomerism emerged as a platform advocating for women's equal rights and social reforms. This early form of feminism began with a simple yet powerful desire among women for more practical and comfortable clothing—specifically, bloomers. The term 'bloomers' was named after Amelia Bloomer, the editor of The Lily newspaper, who became one of the most prominent advocates for this new, reform-minded attire 

The introduction of this new dress concept for women came with its own set of challenges and setbacks. Over the years, women who began wearing bloomers, knickerbockers, trousers, pantaloons, or pants faced a complex mix of support and criticism. These garments were much more than a fashion statement—they represented a transformative shift for women, granting them newfound power and freedom.
